Soccer Tournaments
There are many leagues which are working in USA; each of them has its own tournament. Some of the important tournaments are Jefferson, Missouri, Potomac and Vulcan cup soccer tournament etc. These tournaments are necessary in order to create a healthy competition among the players. These are mostly the youth soccer tournaments.
Jefferson Cup Premier Soccer Tournament is ranked third for boys and fifth for girls in United States of America. The tournament admits around six hundred teams from all around North America. It is held at 13 different complexes around the Greater Richmond Area with Striker Park being the main facility, which has eleven fields in it. The tournament is so big that it is equaled with tournaments like the Dallas Cup, The San Diego Surf Cup, WAGS Women’s Tournament, and the Disney College.
In 2008 the U 16 and U 19 matches will organized this way; Teams will play 1 game every day, there will be 8 team divisions (2 groups of 4) so every team will play 3 group games on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The final will held on Sunday. International standards will be followed in terms of the duration of the match, two complete forty five minutes halves. There will be 3 Field Locations – Including Striker Park and fields which are closer to the park.

There are a huge number of soccer tournaments which are planned for youth soccer league in Missouri. The league includes various schools, colleges and clubs. Almost all of them organize the Missouri youth soccer tournaments all around the year. They are both the girls’ soccer tournaments and that of boys. One of these tournaments is the Arsenal Cup which is held in Kansas City. It is for both boys and girls. The age groups for boys include U-8 to U-15 while the girls’ age limit is U-8 to U-19The St. Louis Soccer Club arranges the St. Louis Challenge Cup. This is an exclusively girls’ soccer tournament, which includes the girls of U-15 to U-18 age group. Western Missouri Soccer League plans the Harris Cup for girls only. This tournament includes youth soccer teams from all around the Midwest. It is a U-9 to U-18 age group cup. There are many exclusively organized tournaments for girls; however, no exclusivity is there for boys. The rest of the tournaments are planned both for boys and girls.
The 29th Annual Adidas Potomac Memorial Tournament will take place in May 2008. The participating teams can be both girls and boys of U-9 to U 19 age groups. The Vulcan Cup is the Southeast's leading tournament which takes place in month of March. In 2007 the Vulcan Cup congregated 316 teams from 14 states. The 34 State Champions, 27 State Finalists and 37 State Semi-Finalists took part in the tournament. Held in centrally-located Birmingham with its mild climate, the Vulcan Cup is an ideal early-season tournament for the teams coming from North of United States. The tournament will follow the following formation; the under six year age group would have six players in each team. The under eleven will have eight, under twelve will have both eight and twelve players while under thirteen and up will also have eleven players in each team. The tournament is exclusively for the boys.
