Soccer Teams

Every soccer team has its own style and theme of playing the game. Some opt for attacking football, while others go for a defensive mode, some consider the beauty of the play above all the things, whereas, there are also those who merely focus their attention on how to score as many goals as possible. These different approaches towards the game lead the teams to play different kinds of soccer.

All the soccer playing teams whether on the level of the country or the club, have their own team logos, which distinguish them from others. Oftentimes merely these logos are used to identify a team. Therefore they become the identity of the players along with their flags. These teams have their soccer names after the names of their country or that of the city with which the club belongs to. There are many countries which are at the moment recognized in the world due to their achievements in the game of soccer, especially the South American ones. Portugal national soccer team is one of them. A poor European country, Portugal was started to be known around the world because of some outstanding players that the county’s soccer has so far produced.

Remaining an under achiever the Portuguese National Team qualified for the FIFA Soccer World Cup for merely four times. They were on fourth position in the last world cup. However, that was not their best performance. The best one came in 1966, when Portugal soccer team qualified for the first time for the world cup. They managed to reach the semi final of the world cup; however, they lost it, but won the next game for the third place decider. The present team is considered as the best team of the Portugal soccer ever.

There are many different kinds of teams and clubs which play soccer. They can be amateur, semi professional and professional soccer teams. Almost all the soccer playing has this structure which they follow at their club level. The premier leagues are mainly the professional ones. They are consisted of the professional soccer teams like Manchester United, AC Milan, Real Madrid, or the Chivas soccer team, while the clubs at the lower levels are most of the times either semi professional or amateur.

Although it is the men’s soccer team of the playing nations which gain most popularity, the sport is also played at many other levels. There are Women’s soccer team, the boys’ soccer teams of various age groups, and then the girls’ soccer team of different age groups. There are also indoor soccer teams, or the disabled soccer team. These teams play soccer at their respective levels. FIFA organize separate tournaments including the World Cups for all of them. Recently FIFA has also held the first ever Club World Cup, of the top leagues of the world, won by AC Milan, the top club of the world at the moment, a part of the famous Italian League.

These soccer playing teams have shown some outstanding performances over the year, making this game even more popular, every time they have jumped into the ground. No doubt the skills and techniques and the fast mode of the game used by the players keep the spectators captivated through out the ninety minutes game.
