The Mexican soccer league system is made up of four levels of leagues. These are Primera División de México, Primera División A, Segunda and Tercera División. The First division is made up of eighteen teams, which comes against each other in two tournaments. Champion of this league takes part in the CONCACAF Champion. Primera A is composed of 24 teams. They also play two tournaments every year, Apertura in the autumn and the Clausura in the spring. The best team of the two tournaments is promoted to First Division and the worst is relegated to the Second division. In the Second and Third divisions the teams play to take part in the Apertura and Clausura tournaments. The relegated team from the second division goes to the third one. However, as the third division is the lowest tier of the league therefore no one is relegated from it.
