Soccer Field
The official soccer field size for the adults can be from fifty to hundred yards in width and length ranges from hundred to hundred and thirty yards. However, FIFA permits for the reduction of the size of the soccer field for women and for the players under the age of sixteen or over thirty five.
During the course of the game it is observed that sometimes the players seem quite a distance apart from each other while on other occasions they seem far too close. It happens because the stadiums on which these matches are played have singular soccer field lay out. It allows every one to adjust according to his/her circumstances.
The standardized measurements of the soccer filed have altered over the years. As the game became popular over the years, the size of the field also increased. It allowed to have bigger stadiums and as a result more spectators. In the year 2007 the maximum and minimum measurements for the soccer field were.
1. Minimum Length: 100 Yard
2. Minimum Width: 50 Yards
3. Maximum Length: 130 Yards
4. Maximum Width: 100 Yards
These sizes were mainly applicable for the league matches. But for the international matches the field lay out is slightly altered which is as follows:
1. International Match Minimum Length: 110 Yards
2. International Match Minimum Width: 70 Yards
3. International Match Maximum Length: 120 Yards
4. International Match Maximum Width: 80 Yards

As could be seen the maximum width and the minimum length of the standard field is equal, which is a bit controversial as the law of FIFA states that the soccer field must not be rectangular in form. However, no one ever tried to experiment with making a square one, which could be very damaging for the beauty of the game. The official soccer field size for the World Cups are slightly altered depending upon the venue it is held. However, the official requirements of the minimum measurements must be strictly followed.
The dimensions of the soccer field also changes according to the age group. Many youth soccer teams are consisted of seven players each side, for which a smaller dimension of the field is required. The field of play is marked with white lines. These are considered to be the boundaries. The longer boundary lines are called the touch lines, whereas the shorter ones are known as the goal lines. It is further divided into two with the help of a halfway line. The centre mark is made in the middle of the centre line. A circle with a radius of 9.15 m (10 yards) is marked around. A goal area is defined at each end of the field. A penalty area is made at both ends of the field. Goals must be placed in the middle.
At the extreme edges on both sides of the field are the goal posts. They also have to follow standard size in both length and width. The inner side should be around eight yards away while the lower edge of the cross bar must be eight feet above the ground. As the goal nets are placed behind the bars therefore, there is no need to have any state law for them.
The answer of the question how should I line the soccer field purely depends upon the size of the field itself. Thus, it is decided that the size of the soccer field is not only dependant upon the venue but also upon the age group. There are other categories as well for which the size of the field has to be changed; they are the indoor soccer and the beach soccer.
