College Soccer
While talking about college soccer, it is a term used for the soccer teams which play for their college or universities. This is different from the professional soccer because it is not played for the financial reasons, rather it can come in the category of amateur sports.
College soccer is most organized in USA; however, there is also some kind of organized college soccer going on in South Korea and Canada. In rest of the countries more emphasis is given to club and league soccer. That is how the soccer infrastructure in USA is different from the one in European and South American countries. The college soccer is played in the form of league in USA which is divided into three NCAA and NAIA divisions. Many players from the American college soccer teams play for the teams of Premier Development League. As it is a higher level of league than the college level itself, only the top college team players get a chance to join PDL. One of the college clubs BYU Cougars has gone as far as to play for PDL, leaving NCAA and NAIA far behind.
Most of the matches of the college soccer are sponsored. They even are not telecasted by some of the sponsored TV. Channels show the college soccer news on television showing the news and the scores of the latest matches. These clubs even have their own web sites, which also display the latest news about the club players and the results of the matches of their team.
