However, the modern soccer took its shape in England, where it was first introduced as the war game. The game soon became popular among the masses and started to be played on the streets. It was 1863 when the first rules of the games were written in England, creating the first ever soccer federation. This later paved the way for many other countries across the world to join in.
There are many different kinds of soccer that are played these days. These include the outdoor soccer, the indoor soccer, the slime soccer, the beach soccer etc. All these kinds of soccer are played with great enthusiasm; however, the outdoor soccer has no parallel in fame and amount of games and tournaments being played around the world each year.
The game of soccer has created many renowned players in its entire history. Pele the great Brazilian player is renowned amongst his fellow players for his extraordinary accomplishments and unbelievable skills which made him the hero of the soccer world. He was such a high class player that his abilities are recognized not only by his own country men but also by FIFA, the soccer governing body, which named him as the footballer of the century. Diego Maradona is another famous soccer player, from Argentina, who was awarded the same title along with Pele.
The reason behind the extraordinary fame of the game of soccer is that it is very cheap. It can even be played with one soccer ball. Soccer balls, however, have gone through a great developmental stage over the entire 20th century. Earlier the ball was made by leather, which later gave place to synthetic materials. The reason being, the synthetic materials do not absorb water, unlike leather, and sustain their shape and texture during ninety minutes of the game. They are available both hand made and machine made. However, the handmade balls are considered more durable. Eighty percent of the world’s soccer balls are made in Pakistan.

Soccer, as all other parts of our lives, is not without the rules. These rules are strictly followed throughout the course of the game.
