Soccer balls, however, have gone through a great developmental stage over the entire 20th century. Earlier the ball was made by leather, which later gave place to synthetic materials. The reason being, the synthetic materials do not absorb water, unlike leather, and sustain their shape and texture during ninety minutes of the game. They are available both hand made and machine made. However, the handmade balls are considered more durable. Eighty percent of the world’s soccer balls are made in Pakistan.
